Haiti - Politic : «The Protestant sector is unavoidable» dixit Laurent Lamothe 10/12/2013 12:25:08 In a friendly atmosphere the Reverend Pastor Sylvain Exantus, President of the FPH, began the meeting with a prayer attended by among others: Pastor Osner H. Févry, Pastor Chavannes Jeune and Mr. Rosny Desroches, Executive Director of the Civil Society Initiative. In his speech for the occasion, the Minister Lamothe praised the dedication of Gary Guito, the Director General of Religious Affairs, which made possible the talks with FPH stressing that the social requirement of democracy and of the establishment of a rule of law in Haiti, challenge the Government to take into account the important role played by religion in the collective identification of different social groups in the Haitian community. This meeting was an opportunity for pastors to present their proposals and grievances to the Minister. In accordance with instructions of the Head of State, Laurent Lamothe makes of the dialogue with all the forces of the Nation, a priority "We will continue to work daily to provide a lasting solution to the Haitian people. Our vision is to make Haiti a country emerging by 2030 and that passes through the strengthening of state institutions, agricultural production, wealth creation, of an environment conducive to foreign investment and especially through education," stressing the importance of the Protestant sector in the process of recovery of Haiti "Haiti needs all his son and daughters to rebuild itself and the Protestant sector is unavoidable in this process." Moreover, the Minister Lamothe proposed to the FPH to organize a similar meeting at the National Palace, in order to continue this dialogue with the President of the Republic. After this meeting, he positively received the proposal of the FPH to form a tripartite Liaison Committee, composed of the Protestant Federation of Haiti, the Ministry of Religion and the Prime Minister, to monitor the decisions taken at this fraternal meeting.
