Haiti - Education : The first 103 scholars in Mexico, speaks Spanish now 14/12/2013 11:06:55 The 103 young scholars Haitians arrived in Mexico last August, completed their learning of the Spanish language, after a stay of four months in this specialized center "I am proud of them," said a Spanish teacher, who praised the efforts of these young Haitians to not only learn Spanish, but also be familiar with Mexican culture. During an official ceremony held in the auditorium of CPCE, two students took the floor on behalf of their comrades to talk about an experience they describe as very rewarding. A documentary compiling the testimonies of several students, teachers and leaders of CPCE was also screened, showing how young Haitians worked during this stay and integrated Mexican life. "After having listened you in Spanish so perfect, I hesitate myself to speak Spanish," It is thus that the Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico, Guy Lamothe, began his speech triggering laughter and applause from the audience. While congratulating the students success in this first step, Ambassador Lamothe invited them to continue with their efforts during their stay in Mexico "Do not forget especially that Haiti awaits you and your knowledge, to get out of its situation. So at the end of your studies, you will return to this country that has already given you so much," recalling that education is a priority for the Government of Haiti, priority that Mexico has well understood by offering that cooperation. Roberto Paz Neri, the Director of CEPE considered that this was an experience where everyone wins. "We all won. Mexico has received and shared his knowledge, Haiti has learned and also shared its culture." Each student received as a gift a backpack and an USB shaped bracelet from the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico.
