Haiti - NOTICE : Reduce the waiting time to obtain a U.S. visa interview
In a note the Consulate of the United States insists on the procedure to be followed to make an appointment to reduce waiting time for obtaining an interview of Non-Immigrant Visa.

Procedure :
The U.S. Embassy wishes to remind non-immigrant visa applicants that they are not permitted to make visa appointments without paying the application fee at SOGEBANK. If you have made an appointment before you went to SOGEBANK to pay the application fee, then your appointment will be considered invalid and will not be honored.

Starting December 26, 2013, if you arrive at the Embassy for your visa appointment and the red number on your SOGEBANK receipt does not match the number used to make your appointment, you will be turned away and be instructed to make a valid appointment.

Warning :
The Embassy understands that many applicants rely on third-party service providers to schedule their non-immigrant visa appointments. Some of these service providers may be unscrupulously entering false SOGEBANK receipt numbers to save blocks of empty appointments for their sole use. This abuse of the appointment system makes it more difficult for individuals to make visa appointments and increases the wait time for everyone. By requiring that the red SOGEBANK receipt number matches the number used to make the appointment, the Embassy hopes to stop this abuse of the appointment system and thereby shorten the time required to schedule a visa interview.

Reminder :
The Embassy charges no money for making visa appointments. The only fees most applicants for non-immigrant visas should pay are the 7040 HTG application fee paid at SOGEBANK, and for those receiving visas, the 10 USD fee paid to Haiti Messager in the consular waiting room for passport delivery.
