Haiti - Politic : Achievements of the Government of Haiti for 2013 11/01/2014 09:18:15 90% decrease in the number of displaced persons; closure of more than 1,200 IDPs camps. Relocation of 1.3 million people ; construction of 8 Peace Courts, whose premises also house an Office of Civil Status (OEC) and an Office National Identification Office (ONI). Rehabilitation of four courts of first instance. Rehabilitation of the Court of Appeal of Cap-Haitien. Rehabilitation, expansion and strengthening of the Court of Appeals of Les Cayes, construction of the naval base of Les Cayes. Rehabilitation of Immigration office of Belladère etc... Notable achievements and work in progress: Reconstruction of Parliament ; of the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes ; of the Court of Cassation and the establishment of CTCEP, the development of the administrative city. The construction of 5 public buildings, the Villa d’Accueil and of Convention Center of the BRH. Economic side: GDP growth rate of 4.3% at end September 2013 against 2.9% in late September 2012, and control of the inflation rate to 4.5% at end September 2013 against 6.5% at end-September 2012: the rate of GDP growth in the agricultural sector by 4.6% against 1.2% in 2012. Commercial agriculture: 30 million U.S. dollars being invested. More than 500 permanent jobs and 20,000 temporary jobs. To support the peasantry 80 million gourdes of acquired and distributed seeds, 5,000 seedlings distributed, 50,000 hectares of land valued, 10 collection centers of products established, 10,000 equipped and strengthened fishermen, 50,000 farmers beneficiaries. On the side of investments: 48 private investment projects accompanied and supervised totaling 698 million U.S. dollars. On the environmental side: Conservation of soil and water on nearly 20,000 hectares by reforestation activities and the introduction of bio-mechanical structures. More than 4 million of seedlings were planted. For the tourism sector: The development of tourist destinations (work in progress) of Île-à-Vache, Côtes-de-Fer, Jacmel, Cap-Haïtien/Milot/Citadelle, Fort-Liberté et Môle Saint-Nicolas... For the social component : Urban renewal in the various municipalities of the country and rehabilitation work through Communal Fund ; Jalousie en Couleur Painting and plastering 3,500 homes), development of football fields (mini stadiums) ; road paving, concreting of 2,500 m2 corridors ; rehabilitation of precarious Neighborhoods : Morne Hercule, Nérette, Morne Lazarre, Sainte-Marie, Villa Rosa and Bristout ; Streetlights, electrification, sanitation, road paving, development of the wharf Jérémie in Cité Soleil.
