Haiti - Politic : Speech of President Martelly on the State of the Nation
Monday at the opening of the first ordinary session of the legislative year, after the speech of the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, on the balance sheet 2013 of his Government https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10294-haiti-politic-haiti-made-outstanding-progress-speech-of-the-prime-minister.html , the President Martelly has delivered before the Haitian Parliament in the presence of senior civil servants of the State and the Diplomatic Corps his speech on the State of the Nation.

This performance was favored by large public investments that have catalyzed private investment flows.

Monetary policy combined with the effects of the increase in agricultural supply, lower food prices on the international market and the stability of the exchange rate favored the slower pace of growth rate of inflation to reduce its rate YoY to 4.5% in September 2013 against 6.5% in September 2012. This good performance have yet been made in a context where external donations have decreased by nearly 30% over the previous year.

The macro-economic outlook for the year 2013-2014, in particular the stability of prices and the exchange rate, therefore remains encouraging insofar forecasts internationally expect a recovery in the global economy and that the indices of the increase in domestic production are promising [...]"
