Haiti - Culture : «Voodoo, The road of a Haitian Pantheon»
Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00 pm, will take place the opening of the photo exhibition "Voodoo, The road of a Haitian Pantheo" to the French Institute of Haiti (IFH)

This exhibition takes us to the heart of voodoo practices and traditions. Ancestral animist cults traveled with African slaves on slave ships to the New World and today continue to establish themselves wherever the Haitian diaspora dedicate it a living space.

The photographer Gaël Turine, invited by the IFH, testifies of "the existence" Voodoo in Benin bush villages to the outskirts of Miami passing of course, in many mystical sites and pilgrimage in Haiti. For 5 years, Gaël Turine photographed this dialogue between the real and the invisible, the natural elements as a gateway to the pantheon.

Free Admission: IFH, 99 avenue Lamatinière, Bois-Vernat. A guided tour by the artist is available to the public Friday, January 17 at 4:00 pm The exhibition will be held from Wednesday, January 15 to Saturday February 1.

In 2005, Gaël Turine starts his work on the road of voodoo, the last photos are from August 2010. The book "Voodoo" was released in January 2011. He also contributed to many collective books. His work is exhibited in galleries, museums and at festivals. His reports are published in the international press. Gaël Turine was awarded several awards and has received grants in Europe and the United States.
