Carnival 2014
The Ministers of culture, tourism and agriculture, the Secretaries of State for public safety, public works, transport and communication, president of the committee and some members of the Central Committee of Port-au-Prince met delegates and mayors of Gonaïves, St. Marc, Gros morne, Marchand Dessalines, St Michel de L'Attalaye etc... in order to plan the pre-carnival festivities which begin on January 19 in Gonaïves, before to extend to other municipalities in the Artibonite.

Preparation of the Carnival of Jacmel
The Departmental Director of Tourism SouthEast Ms. Dithny Joan Raton and Ms. Michaëlle Craan, consultant of the Departmental Directorate Tourist SouthEast met this Tuesday, January 14, 2014 the Departmental Director of Culture SouthEast, Mr. Michelet Divers in order to reflect and propose to the authorities the agenda of Jacmel Carnival 2014 themed POTE KOLE POU N' AVANSE.

"Tèt Kole Pou Yon Ayiti Pi Djanm"
"Tèt Kole Pou Yon Ayiti Pi Djanm", is the theme chosen for the national carnival this year. The city of Gonaives will host this popular festival on 2 and 4 March. This theme was unveiled by the national committee Saturday.

Working meeting : Destination Jacmel
The Departmental Director of Tourism SouthEast, Ms. Dithny Joan Raton met this Tuesday, January 14, 2014 the Mayor of Jacmel Mr. Noé Adonis and two technicians of BTCH, the engineers Vladimir Jean-Baptiste and Wendell Chérilus around the project Destination Jacmel. Were discussed the following points: the distribution of food kiosks along the Boulevard du Front de Mer, the Amphitheatre and the Memorandum of Agreement between the Mayor, the French Development Agency, the Spanish Cooperation and the Ministry of Tourism for the rehabilitation of buildings of City Hall and the former School of the Sisters.

Beautification project of the entrance of Jacmel
As a tourist destination, Jacmel enhances its image to welcome its visitors particularly at the carnival of this year. First beautification project at the level of bridge Gosseline is becoming a reality. Project carried out by the Ministry of Tourism through the Technical Office of the Historical Center funded by the Spanish Cooperation. The Mayor of Jacmel take the opportunity to rethink the cleaning in this area in particular through an awareness program and distribution of advertising posters at the entrance of Jacmel.

Plaque of honor for the Minister of Tourism
Haitian perspective, an organization composed of Haitians living abroad based in Florida, proceeded to the presentation of a plaque of honor to the Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, for her commitment to work for a strong tourism industry .

Historic Centre of Jacmel
Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism had a monitoring meeting with Messrs Landon Anderson and John C. Williams of the Company New Orléenne, Williams Architects, about the agreement signed by the Minister Villedrouin, during the last quarter of 2013 to redevelop the historic center of Jacmel.

Working session with the WB on the North Destination
The Regional Director North of the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, accompanied by two officers of the Bureau, met Thursday, Jan. 9, a delegation from the World Bank, composed of Ms. Maria Kim and Joan Dessaint Fomi at National Historical Park (PNH / CRSS). This meeting was part of the project "Cultural Heritage and Tourism Development" of the World Bank (for North Destination) had for objective to statute on the work that the Ministry of Tourism has already made at the level of this park (PNH/CRSS) and see how the World Bank could provide support for the advancement of next steps, including key players in the tourism sector of the North destiantion.

Haiti at "Caribbean Travel Marketplace à Montego Bay"
The Ministry of Tourism participated in the "Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Montego Bay" in Jamaica from 12 to 14 January 2014.
