Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere ! 25/01/2014 11:02:14 Friday, Northern Regional Office of the Ministry of Tourism welcomed the first group of tourists of Transat who came to visit, among other the National Historical Park composed of the Citadelle Henry, of ans Souci Palace and of Site of Ramiers. Tourists have took the opportunity to discover the Downtown Historic of Cap-Haitien, the typical gastronomy, hospitality and landscapes of the North. At FITUR, the Minister of Tourism was not idle ! Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 34th edition of the second world's largest tourism fair (FITUR) which takes place in Madrid (Spain), Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin who explained to hotel chains the importance that the Government of Haiti gives to the tourism sctor, stated that for this reason, the Haitian government had sought ways to attract foreign investment by offering some tax incentives in this sector whose, among other a tax exemption for the hotel industry of 20 years, if they decide tosettle in Haiti. The Minister considers that these measures will create 6,000 jobs and indirectly generate growth in other sectors such as agriculture. Thursday the delegation led by Ministry of Tourism Stéphanie Villedrouin, gave a cocktail where a presentation of investment opportunities in the tourism sector of Haiti was made. At this rendezvous, were present among others: the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Taleb Rifai and representatives of Spanish hotel groups... During this world-class event, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin never ceases to multiply meetings various investors representatives of important Spanish hotel group : such as the Barcelo chain, NH, Prats, and Fiesta Palladium. The tourism master plan for the South Coast has been the subject of various presentations of the Minister at these meetings. In addition, Ms. Pascale Hilaire, the Head of Travel and Leisure section of the Ministry of Tourism, takes advantage of this Tourism Fair, to establish contacts with many travel agencies and tour operators on site. 5 foreign journalists visiting the Citadelle and Palais Sans Souci... Friday, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism has received in the Destination a group of five foreign professional journalists came to visit the National Historic Park, including the Citadelle Henry and Sans Souci Palace.
