On Wednesday, the President Martelly, returned home after attending the 3rd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) [2nd in Cuba, the first having been held in Caracas, Venezuela].

The Head of State, who was accompanied to the summit, among others by, Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilson Laleau, cting Minister of Trade and Industry and Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, has placed special emphasis on the significant progress made by his administration in the agricultural sector. He took the opportunity to invite investors of 32 other member countries to come and explore the many business opportunities offered by Haiti.

"The dream of transforming Latin America and the Caribbean as a growth pole and of development is making great strides towards its realization, since the creation of CELAC," declared the Head of State in his speech at the CELAC.

On the sidelines of the summit, the President Martelly met, especially with Ban Ki Moon, the Secretary General of the United Nations, who assured him of the commitment "strong and sustained" of the UN to contain and eradicate Cholera in Haiti.
