Haiti - Politic : Martelly at Capitol Hill 07/02/2014 09:28:48
Thursday, as part of his official visit to Washington DC, the President Michel Martelly, met with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate, at Capitol Hill.
With the Congressmen, the President of the Republic in particular discussed the economic development of Haiti and the international aid. It was also for the Head of State to address the issue of the renewal of Hope Act, which will end in 2020 "The Haiti that we want to build is a Haiti that takes care of itself. A country that is no longer totally dependent on external aid," declared President Martelly, convinced that Haiti has entered in the era of job creation, investment, stability and strengthening of the rule of law.
The President of the Republic, while thanking the U.S. Government for its support for the vision of the current Haitian Government reiterated its full commitment to the Haitian families to enable them to have a better tomorrow.
