At D-10 of the launch of National Carnival 2014, the city of Gonaives is ready to receive visitors. According to the mayor Steeven Saint-Fleur, in terms of security, over 5,000 policemen will be deployed and the city has recruited young "brigadier" to strengthen security. Logistically, more than a thousand hotel rooms have been identified in the Artibonite and nearly 500 for the city of Gonaives, as well as Guest Houses. More than 85 booths have been sold and others will be added, spaces will be developed for people who have tents. All streets are lit and almost finished being paved. Budget of National Carnival The budget for the organization of the National Carnival 2014 which will be held under the theme "Tèt kole pou Ayiti Pi Djanm" is estimated at 130 million gourdes. It is funded overwhelmingly by the private sector. NOTICE : nonworking days The Office of Communication of the Presidency informs the general public, that by presidential decree dated 18 February 2014, the public and private administration, schools, trade and industry will not work the day of Monday, March 3 from noon, the days of Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in their entirety, at the occasion of national carnival, which takes place in Gonaives this year.
