Haiti - Health : 30th Gala of the Haitian-American Nurses Association 14/04/2014 13:12:12
Accompanied by François Guillaume II, the new Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, the First Lady took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of health as a factor of development and the role of every Haitian indiscriminately in the country's march towards progress. "Thirty years of service to the community, it is not 30 days. I came to bring my support as I do when it is a positive work and also encourage all the children of Haiti, where they are to bring their knowledge and skills at the service of their country," welcoming the members of the association, who were able to hold the flame high in the Haitian diaspora during the 30 years of their existence and kept strong ties with their country of origin.  This ceremony was also an opportunity for Marjorie Lozama, President of HANA, to deliver in the presence Nahomie Mirville, the former president of the Association, an Honorary plaque to the First Lady for his commitment and dedication to the struggle for access to more health care "in the presence of human suffering, I saw every time the same feeling, that of being 'welded' to each other by the mere fact of belonging to one race, the human race and the obligation made to me to make a difference !" declared Sophia Martelly. Note that HANA has already allowed young Haitian 8 (present at the Gala), 2 from Haiti to benefit from scholarships in Nursing. HL/ HaitiLibre
