Haiti - Politic : The Duvalierist Party PUN, inaugurates its first departmental office

Tuesday, in the presence of former President Jean-Claude Duvalier, his wife Veronique Roy, members of delegations of Nippes, North, West and Artibonite and many supporters and sympathizers, the Duvalierist party "National Unity Party" (Parti Unité Nationale - PUN) proceeded to Auban (near Jacmel) at the inauguration of its first departmental office, at the black and red colors.

Alix Aurélien Jeanty, cting Coordinator General of the Party, while presenting the PUN as a future-oriented political party, stressed that the PUN was imposed in all simplicity and pride, as "one of the oldest Haitian nationalist parties and frankly dessalinien" [established in 1957].

Jean-Claude Duvalier, cut a symbolic ribbon and greeting his supporters, refraining from any official statement.

Friteau Marc, the Departmental Coordinator of PUN did not rule out that his party can participate in the next election (Senators, Deputies and Local Authorities), indicating waiting for the opening of the electoral campaign before announcing candidates, adding that former President J-C Duvalier will officially pronounce at the National Congress of PUN, to be held later this year.
