Haiti - Football : Did Bolivia steal the victory to the Haitians?
Did Bolivia in Singapore steal the victory to the Haitians? It is the question which one can put after the update of what could be one of the greatest sporting scandal in Bolivia...

Let us recall that Bolivian U-15, gained gold at The Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010 (YOG) after having gained final 5-0 in Haiti in a cycle of victories which had also integrated Singapore and Montenegro. Matches approved by the "International Federation of Association Football" (Fifa) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Indeed, how to explain the defeats of Haiti 9-0 in match of opening and 5-0 into final against Bolivia with the JOJ, whereas this same Haitian team gained the victory against the other teams that she faced: Haiti Vanuatu (2-1) and Haiti-Singapore (2-0)? The complaint by Arturo Garcia the president of the Association of the trainers of the Eastern city of Santa Cruz (Bolivia pleads that at least 5 players, whose identity was not revealed (the key elements of the Bolivian victory one says) of the Bolivian team, would have between 16 and 19 years, differences in ages which give an undeniable superiority on the ground vis-a-vis Haitian adversary (and other teams) of 15 years.

According to Garcia of fraud on the age of players have already existed in the past, citing the case of qualified striker Samuel Galindo, one of the best players in the selection of South American U-17 played Chile in April and for English club Arsenal, whose age had been altered.

This scandal if it is established could lead to severe sanctions against Bolivia, in addition to losing the greatest success in the sporting history of the Andean countries. According to plaintiffs, this case is only the tip of the iceberg. The allegations have provoked an outcry in Bolivia and began to splash the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), the team of young footballers and the Bolivian Olympic Committee (BOC), which authorized the selection that has participated in Singapore.

Prosecutor Victor Hugo Perez, formally asked the Prosecutor General to investigate the complaint filed by Arturo Garcia. The complaint filed in Santa Cruz (900 km east of La Paz), because the players mentioned are native of this city "There are players in 21 but ranked 15 and 16 to the detriment of young people who really want to play at their age, "said Perez, who has denounced the president of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), Carlos Chavez of having" negotiated "the age of the players. "We will do a thorough investigation to determine whether collusion or if the parents have changed the age that their son can play in a lower category.

Edgar Claure, president of the BOC declared that "if the suspicions are proven there will be serious consequences, because it will be then of proven fraud and an irrevocable damage for the country. We live a feeling of shame and in the fear which Bolivia is suspended of the international tournaments of football. All the weight of the law which can apply as well to the players, the leaders as with the parents. The BOC declared that if the allegations were founded, the BOC and the country could face sanctions of CIO. CIO has an ethics committee which will have to study thoroughly all the circumstances of this case, to identify the culprits and to decide sanctions". It finds however "unpatriotic" the complaint of Arturo Garcia who would have had, according to him, to call upon justice before the selection and not once Bolivia gained the gold medal.

Nobody would like to be instead of Evo Morales Bolivian president which could have to return, in humiliation and shame, a gold medal obtained by the fraud after having accommodated with the Presidential palace the young footballers, new Bolivian heroes, whom it introduced like examples of work and devotion, models for youth in Bolivia.
