Haiti - Agriculture : Laying of the foundation stone of an Industrial Microparc and an Agri-village
On Friday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe accompanied by among others Wilson Laleau, Minister of Commerce and Industry (MCI) went in the department of Nord (Limonade), to attend a ceremony of laying the first stone of microparc Industrial (MPI) in Saint-Raphaël and of the Agri-village of Morne Casse.

Through this microparc and this Agri-village, the government intends to develop and expand the production and local expertise, while allowing small farmers to become in the short and medium term of entrepreneurs.

Note that the start of construction of this microparc in Saint-Raphael, is part of a project of 42 microparcs through the national territory "Our vision is to build an Industrial microparc in each region of the country, so that we can revalue the local production [...] Industrial microparcs are part of a strategy aimed at enhancing the productive potential of our peasants, mentor professionals in our communities and make a pooling of resourcesenergy, machinery, councils etc...)" indicated the Head of the Government "Social Economy and Solidarity builds in Haiti! Who knows? Maybe tomorrow we will be the first agro-biological nation in the world ! ...] We will put all the resources of government for this project be successful."

These microparcs will be controlled by a limited company with in particular as shareholders, the State, the local authority and producer organizations.

For his part, the Minister Laleau explained that in these microparcs "We will put modern equipment and technology available to thebeneficiary companies of this program so that they can increase their productivity, competitiveness and incomes [...] and promote the emergence of new businesses."

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and his team went to Morne Casse in the Northeast to officially launch the construction of an Agri-village funded by the Treasury to the tune of 369 million gourdes and realized under the control of MCI. In this agri-village, built on 105 hectares of arable land, besides the residential dimension, schools, public markets, sports fields, green spaces etc... we will find among others a milk processing plant, another of vermicompost, a plant for cassava flour and other food for livestock. The Minister Laleau explained The realization of this project in the area of ​​Morne Casse, demonstrates the willingness of the administration Martelly / Lamothe who understood the merits of this project and have decided to put the funds needed at the the service of my ministry to launch this project [...] and go towards the regions that need our support." The work is expected to last 36 months..

In addition, Wilson Laleau took advantage of his displacement to announce the launch of an institute of entrepreneurship in the North, in which 60 young people from the University of Limonade will be select to receive this training, among the 1,400 student applicants.
