Haiti - Education : 757,063 candidates prepare to pass the state exams
According to Renan Michel, Director of the National Bureau of state examinations (BUNEXE) from 17 June to 11 July, from the 6th year fundamental up to philo, 757.063 candidates are expected this year, to the official State exams.

"All units concerned are mobilized and preparations are well underway for the conduct of State exams that will sanction the cycle of studies of our schoolchildren, indicated Denis Cadeau, Director General of the Ministry of Education, which has stated that the access cards to exam room for the 6th and 9th year fundamental, are already printed and the distribution process is already underway in several departments.

Following figures (preliminary) provided by the BUNEXE :

298,474 students in the 6th year fundamental will pass official examinations from June 17 to 18;
194,910 students in the 9th year fundamental pass official examinations from June 24 to 26;
186,942 students will pass the examinations first part (Bac 1) from June 30 to July 3;
76,737 students will pass the examinations of Bac II from 7 to 11 July.

The calendar provided for the conduct of examinations is maintained, confirmed Renan Michel who added that there will be no resumption for the candidates of the 9th year fundamental, contrary to previous announcements.

Moreover, he indicated that cases of fraud were identified, once again, in the process of validation of candidates. If last year, the number of schools involved in fraudulent was 267, it moved this year to 248. While the number of wrongful students who are not validated to take part in exams increased from 526 last year to 528 this year.

According to the Director of BUNEXE, they are students who have not completed their average in 2nd, in an institution and which, in complicity with a director of another school, were able to obtain a higher average allowing them to enter in class Rétho "They have unfortunately not been validated. Therefore, they can not participate in exams."

The Ministry informs that the uniforms, of schools from which come from the candidates, is now mandatory in examination centers.
