Haiti - Politic : A special plan for Terrier-Rouge 15/06/2014 09:45:09 Accompanied by including the Senator Dérex Pierre-Louis and of Mayor of Terrier Rouge, Vercius St-Preux, thousands of people have warmly welcomed the Prime Minister, during his arrival at the communal section of Grand Bassin, an official historic visit of such a high level, since that of the President Sténio Vincent in 1937. This visit imprint of cordiality, allowed the Prime Minister to inquire about the real needs of inhabitants of the area, who took the opportunity to submit a list of demands including, inter alia, a public market and a playground for children. The Prime Minister announced that in the next three months, a modern public market will be built in Grand Bassin, to offer the opportunity to merchants to have a more dignified space and more suitable for practicing their daily activities. In the next 30 days, a sub-police station will also be installed to create a safer climate and more conducive to the development of the area. At the auditorium of St Barthelemy School of Terrier Rouge, second step os his visit, the Head of Government met with local elected officials, including members of civil society and representatives of 44 houses of the region, who focused on the most urgent projects for citizens. The Prime Minister announced the development of a special plan for the Commune of Terrier Rouge, which aims to provide quick and lasting solutions to the problems faced by the population of the region. The Prime Minister has responded positively to the concerns and promised to step up efforts to change the lives of many vulnerable families in the commune. For this purpose, it intends inter alia: strengthening social programs and bring electricity to the area from June 30, through an agreement with the firm ENRECA, which will allow all municipalities in the department to have electricity. This visit was also an opportunity for the Prime Minister to renew its commitment to boost domestic agricultural production. A lot of equipment including tractors and tillers and other agricultural inputs and tools were delivered to growers associations of Terrier Rouge to support their efforts and facilitate better use of arable land. Mayor Vercius St-Preux welcomed the visit and praised the dedication of the Head of Government, which he said "[...] is a man of action who works for the development of the country." HL/ HaitiLibre
