Vocational training for youth

Development of the Cave Marie Jeanne
Wednesday Karine Condé, Director of Departmental South MTCI, met with representatives of the "South Coast Initiative" (CSI), Antonio Perera, Programme Manager Country / UNEP Haiti, two Cuban specialists in eco-tourism, Elvis Mihan and Rosendo Hernandez Martinez Montero around the second phase of the redevelopment of the Grotte Marie Jeanne. This meeting was an opportunity for Ms. Condé to attend the presentation of the plan for the second phase of the redevelopment of the Cave and provide an update on the various works that have already been made.

Travel Marketing Training
Following the signing of the Framework Agreement connecting the MTCI to the Organization Management North Destination (OGD-North) relating to the Development of Destination, the Tourist Development Agency of France (Asset-France) conducted two great days of training on 18 and 19 June in Cormier Plage, for the hoteliers and tourist operators and employees of the Northern Regional Office of the Minsitry. This training session organized in "Tourism Marketing of a Destination" allowed participants to be aware of their position and work to do to join other sectors, because of the tourism-transversality to work together to develop the North Destination.

Strengthening of Fishermen in Île-à-Vache
Thursday the Minister Villedrouin and the Secretary of State for crop production, Fresner Dorcin have launched the project of fisheries and aquaculture in the localities of Figuier and Hatte. Sixty fishermen were mobilized to a meeting during which the President of the federation of fishermen, Mr. Wesler has received a dozen engines. In order to strengthen the federation of fishermen, the Government Martelly-Lamothe is committed to install 6 DCP (Fish Aggregating Device) and a fishing center with cold room. Apart from the training and administrative tools, nearly a hundred of traditional boats will be repaired and sixty traps and and 2 fly boat will be distributed.

Launching of the project fruit agriculture
Friday, under the special plan of the Île-à-Vache, the Minister of Tourism,coordinator of the plan, proceeded to the verification of finishing work of the police station and proceeded to Madame Bernard, ith the Secretary of State for agricultural production, to the launching of the project of economic development of fruit agriculture with a group of 50 young producers already incurred. This project, aims to boost the production of a variety of nutritious fruits for the benefit of the people of the ïle-à-Vache and for the development of cost-effective solutions in the region. Activities continue this Friday, June 20, 2014 in Île-à-Vache. The Minister delivered work materials to the first group of young people within the framework of program to redevelop of agro fruit plants in Île-à-Vache.
