Haiti - Elections : Delegation of CEP in Mexico
Under a cooperation agreement signed in July 2013 between the "Instituto Nacional Electoral" (INE) of Mexico and the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), a Haitian delegation headed by Mosler Georges, Executive Director of CEP, composed of Pierre Michel Hyacinthe, Coordinator of the Office of President of the CEP, Roger Jean Philippe Augustin, Director of the electoral register of Haiti and Widmack Matador, Director of the Vote Tabulation to the Electoral Council, will participate from June 30 to July 4 in the "International Workshop on administration and electoral justice to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of Haiti".

This workshop is conducted by the Coordination of International Affairs of the Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) of Mexico through the International Centre for Training and electoral research, in coordination with the Electoral Court of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) and the Mexican cooperation Agency for International Development (AMEXCID).

Monday at the opening, Minister-President of the INE, Lorenzo Córdova stated that "international cooperation contributes to the development of democratic systems, which is essential to the professionalization of electoral institutions."

In the presence of the Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico, Guy Lamothe, representatives of the Delegation of the CEP, of Nicole Klerian, Head of the International Affairs Unit TEPJF, of Jesús Schucry Giacomán, Representative of AMEXCID and Dong Nguyen, international specialist in electoral matters; Lorenzo Córdova affirmé "The workshops of this kind help disseminate best practices and solutions to various problems faced by democracies, by always taking into account the political, economic and social context of each country [...] the holding of this workshop represents a valuable opportunity for the development of democratic systems."

For his part, Manuel Carrillo, Coordinator of International Affairs at the INE, said that "the goal of this workshop is to share information about organizational issues and voter registration, to strengthen mechanisms to allow better performance and credibility of the electoral institutions," adding that this workshop "will contribute to strengthening the process and electoral institutions through the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field."
