Festival of the Caves in Dondon
The Commune of Dondon, located in the northern department about 30 km from Cap-Haitien and 290 km from Port-au-Prince invites you to the Caves Festival to be held from 18 to 23 July.

Discover Taino civilization through the "Voûte" in Minguet and enjoy with speleological-tourism with tours of the caves of Dondon including : the "voûte" in Minguet, and of "Dames" and caves St. Martin, Marc Antoine, Cadélia, Adrien Antoine, Nan Michel I and II.

More than one million visitors in Haiti...
In 2013, Haiti has welcomed 420,000 foreign visitors (349,000 in 2012). Of this number, 290,000 were from the United States, 33,000 in Canada and 35,000 from France. It is basically the Haitian diaspora and NGOs. For these visitors, are add 643,000 cruise tourists of the Royal Caribbean disembarking stopover in Labadee on the north coast, but unfortunately they do not venture much beyond Labadee...

Summer Season 2014
Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), accompanied by his Secretary of State, its Directors General and the Tourist Police Inspector (Politour), invited during a press conference, the Haitian people, the diaspora and foreigners to discover the rich potential offered by our regions. In her speech, Mrs. Dithny Joan Raton, the Director of Tourism South East, emphasized the improvement not only of the offer and services, but also on the environment of the sector and the promotion of the destination : signage of the region and its attractions, cultural events in the new event structures (amphitheater and convention center: folk dance competition, international folk arts festival, fiestas Cayes-Jacmel (16 July) and Marigot (August 4)

Meeting with the AECID and BITS
Friday, Mrs. Dithny Joan Raton, the Director of Southeast MTIC held a working meeting with his team of Tourist Information Bureau and Statistics (BITS), the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) and the Technical Office of the Historical Center (BTCH) of Jacmel.

This meeting was an opportunity to share the progress of structural projects and to exchange views on the development of tourism investments. Other topics related to the number of visitors arriving in the historic center of Jacmel and Blue Basin were discussed with the team of BITS. To this end it was agreed that the team of BITS would contact permanently tour operators (hotels, craft shops...) or visitor registration; train travel accompanying; improve the availability of data and focus on the next festivities and patrojnal feasts.
