Haiti - Education : Reopening of schools «École Moyenne d’Agriculture» (EMA) 17/07/2014 11:35:20 Indeed, the improvement of Haitian agriculture passes through strengthening professional technical capacity of human especially at the Communal Agricultural Offices (BAC) where there is a major deficit in agricultural technicians resources. Created there over forty years, the "Écoles Moyennes d’Agriculture" (EMA) did not really work as expected. Also, in the context of institutional reform initiated by the Ministry, it was taken into account the popularization components, research and training. To improve this system a Master Plan has been developed and proposes the outline of a new strategy to revitalize the popularization services nd agricultural vocational education in EMA and training centers. With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States of America, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank, the MARNDR plans to reopen 3 EMA from October 2014 Located in agro-ecological zones of Dondon. (EMAD), the Artibonite Valley (EMAVA) and Hinche (EMDH), the the training courses of these schools will be developed based on the specificities of each of these areas. In this perspective, the Directorate of Training and Promotion of Entrepreneurship Agricole (DFPEA), entity responsible for the formation at the Ministry of Agriculture, recruited 12 Agronomists, who receive training of trainers from 15 July until 15 August 2014. The University UC Davis of California, who had met the criteria of the tender launched by MARNDR and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is responsible for the training, according to the methodology of teaching through practice (learning by doing).
