Haiti - Elections : Though they declare, the 19 candidates are in the race
Despite the announcement in the media, threats of boycott or legal action to try to block the electoral process, Pierre Louis Opont, Director General of Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to declared that no document written on the part of an unspecified political party arrived up to now at the institution which it directs to announce the desistance from a candidate. Although they boycotted the presidential, opposition leaders have not formally renounced the legislative "All approved candidates are all in the electoral race, whatever the statement appeared in the media" it specified referring to the article 104 of the electoral law which stipulates:

Article 104:
"Every candidate or cartel may withdraw his candidature by a notarial act sent to the BED and BEC concerned until the close of the deposit of the candidatures." (In french: Tout candidat ou cartel peut renoncer à sa candidature par un acte authentique adressé au BED et BEC concernés jusqu'à la clôture du dépôt des candidatures)

Moreover, the director of electoral operations informed that the 19 presidential candidates have submitted their photograph and logo of their party, and that the models of the bulletins will soon be sent to businesses for printing, once the final checks have been made.

In parallel, the CEP continues the application of its electoral calendar, from the 12 and until September 23rd the electoral institution will carry out the lottery of the members of the Polling stations whose names are proposed by the approved political parties [and in their presences] and this in all the geographical departments of the country.
