"This Memorandum of Understanding provides the development of a bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and intends to establish a commercial partnership between the two countries : 1) The construction and management of a modern Port in Miragoâne in the Nippes Department; 2) The construction of a manufacturing plant of propane tanks (LPG); 3) The supply of petroleum products from Trinidad and Tobago; 4) The establishment of 9 gas stations of the brand Trinidadian 'National Petroleum' (NP) in Haiti in the next 6 to 9 months; 5) Exploration and Petroleum Research in Haiti." The President of Petrotrin, Lindsay Gillette informed that Petrotrin was aware of the critical shortage of fuel in Haiti which was to the tune of 120,000 barrels per day.
