Haiti - Diplomacy : 100 years later, Haiti remembers...
Sunday, as part of the international commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, the President Michel Martelly, in his name and on behalf of the Haitian people, "salute the memory of all those, soldiers and civilians who died during the Great War or who have experienced the harsh consequences.

About 9 million people died and about 20 million were injured in the First World War, which lasted four long years, from 1914 to 1918.

On the occasion of the commemoration of the centenary of the beginning of this tragedy, the Head of State renews the Haiti' commitment, founding member of the United Nations, to work for peace and the respect for human life throughout the world."
