Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe visited Delmas 2 and the zone of Bel-Air
On Monday, as part of the finalization of the Special Plan implemented by the Government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Charles Jean-Jacques, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and Pierre André Gideon, Secretary of State for the Environment carried out a visit of neighborhoods of Delmas 2 and in the zone of Bel-Air.

These plans, in support and strengthening of the national welfare "Ede pèp" program includes several social engineering projects around two axes: improving social infrastructure and employment-generating activities and income generating. Thus, the Government plans to build more infrastructure projects, including the rehabilitation of the sports park and of the public square in Delmas 2, the canal cleaning, installation of street lights, renovation of ten "lakou" (ongoing).

The Government also plans as part of its special plan, to fund 5 micro-enterprises and create a community music recording studio, for traditional music groups (bands walk).

To promote vocational training, scholarships will be awarded to youth of these neighborhoods and the Government will also come in support of the Vocational School J.B. Damiers. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9428-haiti-education-improvement-of-260-mechanics-of-the-informal-sector.html

As part of the new school year (September 8, 2014), 10,000 school kits as well as furniture will be distributed to schools located in these neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince.
