Haiti - Security : D-1 Road Police is ready for the new school year
Friday, on the instructions of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, also Chairman of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), the Chief of the Central Directorate of Traffic Police (DCPR) Goodson Jeune unveiled at the 38th Government Council held on the theme of the new school year and the integration of people with special needs, a number of measures in order to make the vehicle traffic more fluid in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince during the academic year 2014-2015.

Goodson Jeune promised a sharp intensification of the presence of agents of the DCPR by increasing fixed points through the streets of the metropolitan area "During peak hours, that is to say, at a time when parents are preparing to drop their kids at school, the traffic police will ensure security presence in the various fixed points. They will prevent any behavior likely to slow traffic [...] We have prepared our officers to perform their duties in a better position and we are confident they will do their job professionally [...] We also asked the problem of road signs with the Ministry of Public Works that would normally respond to our requests in the days to come [...]"

Recalling further that, unless special permission is strictly prohibited heavy vehicles to circulate in the arteries of the metropolitan area during the school day: morning from 5:00 to 9:00 and afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00.

For his part, Donald Parison, the Director General of the Metropolitan Service Solid Waste Collection (SMRCS) Friday launched a vast campaign of cleaning called "Fatra pap rantre lekòl" that will mobilize September 5 to 7, 40 trucks and other heavy equipment in order to provide a healthy environment for students during the school year. Moreover, SMRCS in collaboration with the City Council, is working to prevent the occupation of Boulevard La Saline and commercial center of the Croix-des-Bossales by merchants who desert space markets, saying "For the recalcitrant, we will not have otehrs choice that force them to enter the market."
