Haiti - NOTICE : Launching of the Regional investor of the year Award 2014
The Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) joins the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) to invite domestic and foreign entrepreneurs in Haiti, to take advantage of the opportunity to won the prestigious RIYA 2014.

This year, the 2014 RIYA turns its attention to the green economy, environmental protection and sustainable development in the region. RIYA 2014 seek to promote investment in initiatives that employ environmentally friendly practices and sustainable development - initiatives that protect the fragile ecosystem of the area, its flora, fauna and the human life. Local and foreign entrepreneurs in the Caribbean Region, who will submit their applications must demonstrate that they will bring significant contributions to changes, ofrecommendations in the processes, of practices and structures to mitigate potential damage to our ecosystem or take advantage of opportunities related to the green economy.

RIYA 2014 has three award categories and candidates should clearly identify the category or categories in which they wish to participate :

Local Investor of the Year Award :
This award will seek to honour local investors, those of Caribbean birth who have invested in operations in the region that have generated a significant impact.

Foreign Investor of the Year Award :
This award will seek to honour, as the name suggests foreign investors (non-Caribbean nationals), who have invested in operations in the region that have generated a significant impact.

Special Awards :
Special recognition will be given this year to Women Investors who through their business initiatives have made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region. These projects do not need to focus solely on the green economy. These special awards will be given at the discretion of the Evaluation Committee to outstanding applicants.

"This is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs in Haiti, domestic or foreign, to be honored and recognized through regional markets in the Caribbean," said Norma Powell General Director of CFI "Our participation sheds light on the Haiti' economic growth and allows potential investors to know that Haiti is open for investment."

The CFI has established a committee that will process applications submitted by entrepreneurs to select two (2) finalists by categories and transmit them to the Evaluation Committee RIYA for the selection of the winners.

Since Friday, September 19, 2014, application forms and additional information on RIYA 2014, are available at : www.cfihaiti.com

Interested persons are invited to submit their applications at the head office of the Investment Facilitation Center, located at 116 Avenue Jean Paul II, Turgeau.

Deadline for submissions of applications to the CFI: October 10, 2014.
