Haiti - Politic : The G6 contest and denounces the openness to dialogue of President Martelly 24/09/2014 12:06:35 The Senator Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé, explained the absence Monday, of senators of the opposition to dialogue, by the invitations not received. Yet Monday, Simon Dieusel Desras, President of the Senate had affirmed Friday having given strict instructions to the office of the Senate for the 6 opposition senators be invited by e-mail https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12116-haiti-politic-first-day-of-dialogue-with-president-martelly.html Regardless of this supposed absence of invitation (the Senator Westner Polycarpe, a member of G6 saying having been informed of the meeting), the Senator Bien-Aimé asserts that there was no prior agreement on the date, the location, the rules of this dialogue and agenda. Moreover, he is very skeptical, saying that the approach of the Head of State, is only a theatrical production, for the forum of the United Nations and that the President has no desire to dialogue [!] with the opposition to find a way to out of crisis and avoid a parliamentarian vacuum with unpredictable consequences, in January. The Senator Westner Polycarpe, like his colleague Jean-Charles Moïse says categorically, with or without invitation, he will not participate in these meetings, for him, "a Senator should not enter into negotiations with President [...]" whatever the reason, noting that the role of a senator is to "control the executive power, to legislate and work on international conventions and instruments..." If paradoxically the G6 asserts to be willing to meet with the Head of State, [least 2 senators for now], it is not a question for them, to change their demands, namely the creation of a new Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) under section 289 of the Constitution, followed by a new electoral law that will be submitted to Parliament by this new credible Electoral Council...
