Haiti - Health : New manager of the health insurance program of civil servants
Previously run by Group Sante Plus (GSP) under the supervision of the members of Board consisting of, among others, a representative of five ministries (Economy and Finance, Social Affairs, Education, Public Health and Women's) the program of health self-insurance of agents of the public service, will be transferred from 1 October 2014, to the Office of Workmen's Compensation Insurance Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA), which will work within the framework of this program, in collaboration with the Board of administration of Bodies of Social Security (CAOSS) and the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) now responsible for the governance of the program.

Uder Antoine, General Coordinator of the OMRH declared "this self-insurance model has a social dimension and aims to facilitate access to health and medical care to all public employees, in equity," and took advantage of this announcement to make suggestions to the new manager for the proper management of the program, which must, accrding to him meet the needs of beneficiaries, public officials. Among other recommendations, the Coordinator calls for astrengthening of the insurance cover and the reorganization of the monitoring process of payments-reimbursements.

For his part, Dr. Max Rudolph Saint-Albin, Director General of the OFATMA, gave the assurance that his institution will be up to the task entrusted to it from 1 October 2014 and assured to the responsible for program management, that the transition will happen smoothly.
