 Haiti - Social : Simple ceremony for the funeral of JC Duvalier
Saturday morning, hundreds of Duvalierists, sympathizers and nostalgic of the regime, attended the funeral of former President Jean-Claude Duvalier died on October 4 at the age of 63, of a heart attack https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12203-haiti-flash-former-president-jean-claude-duvalier-died-update-2.html at a private ceremony in the chapel of his old school, Saint-Louis de Gonzague, celebrated by the Rev. People are gathered in front of the coffin of Duvalier, cover of the Haitian bicolor, before offering their condolences to the first wife of the former President, Michèle Bennett, her two children, his son François Nicolas and daughter Anya and his companion of the last days Véronique Roy. Michele Bennett and Duvalier's two children were allowed to bless the coffin with holy water (but not Mrs. Roy)...



The assembly was composed especially of members of the Haitian elite, former officials of the Duvalier regime, former senior officers including former Colonel Joseph Baguidy, of ormer Presidents of Haiti Boniface Alexandre and Prosper Avril (dignitaries under the Duvalier regime), of the former Minister to the Presidency in the first cabinet of Jean Claude Duvalier, Fritz Cinéas, the current Ambassador of the Dominican Republic and supporters of the regime, came to pay their last respects to the former strong man of Haiti, surnamed "Baby Doc". Representatives of President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, were seen at the chapel.



After the ceremony, when the output of the coffin, the family members and children of former President made ​​no statement.

Meanwhile the victims of the Duvalier regime, organized a sit-in in front of the former headquarters of his party.

The burial took place out of sight of the curious.
