Haiti - Politic : Installation of the Special Technical Committee in Petit-Goâve
Saturday, a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) led by Me Déus jean François, Secretary of State for Political Affairs, and Major Patrick Bastien, the Deputy Director General of the MICT, has proceeded with the installation of the Special Technical Committee (CTS), which will temporarily manage the communaladministration of Petit-Goâve, placed under the supervision of the State https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12300-haiti-flash-petit-goave-placed-under-the-supervision-of-the-state.html

This committee of three members, is chaired by Marc Chavannes, Deputy Director of the local authorities, assisted by Nelson Elvenson and Hugues Darin, two executives of MICT.

Taking the floor, Me Déus Jean François declared "This Special Technical Committee, has come to help the town of Petit Goâve out of the difficult situation in which it is found for almost two months [...] these three officials from the Ministry have the essential tasks to work closely with the various sectors of the community to arrive at a choice of three citizens that will have to administer the town of Petit-Goâve."

Major Patrick Bastien stated "One of the specific functions of this Committee is to enable the Town Hall of the city Soulouquoise to continue to provide services to the public pending the appointment of a new Municipal Commission to replace the current acting Executive Officers : Mrs. Sandra Jules, Domingo Saint-Prix and Ottelite Lindor until the next election."

Chavannes Marc, the President of CTS, wanted to get the support of all the forces of the community, in order to draw Petit Goâve of the deadlock and that is why, it will make every effort to ensure that this city can function normally again.

Present at the ceremony, Professor Alain Pierre Ernso, Spokesman of the opposition of the Joint Liberation Front (MLF) has asked the people to remain calm and announced that by next Thursday or Friday, the new Municipal Commission could be installed.

With this victory, he said that the mobilization would continue in order to get this time the revocation of Me Jean Alix Civil, the current Commissioner of the Government of Petit-Goâve. It seems that with this statement, the FML plans to continue its momentum and decide the fate of certain public officials in Petit-Goâve... Will it achieve the second objective ?
