Haiti - Economy : The Prime Minister made his declaration of income tax
Thursday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe made ​​his final declaration of income tax, to the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI).

By this act, the Chief government says it wants to send a strong signal to employees of public administration so that they suit. "I am sending a clear signal, significant to everyone from ordinary citizens to great servants of the state. I encourage everyone to declare their income. It is a civic duty of making its final declaration of income tax. Citizens have a duty to contribute, to pay their taxes. By this, they will help the State to increase its revenues, strengthen and provide quality public services to the population. The state, under the Government Martelly/Lamothe is a servant State."

Muradin Morlan, Director General of the DGI, welcomed this symbolic gesture of the Prime Minister "This is the first time in the history of governance of this country, that a Head of Government personally came to make its final declaration of income tax. This proves that there is a shift in the management of public affairs. Prime Minister Lamothe gave the example today."

The Prime Minister, who wants create a new dynamic to the Public Service, invited the different bodies of the state to contribute to the effort of transparency in the management of public assets, in accordance with the instructions of President Martelly.
