Haiti - Justice : Launch of the manual on the rights of children 12/11/2014 10:08:04 Result of a comprehensive strategy for cooperation between the two organizations, this manual aims to make children's rights more tangible and is intended for all those involved in policy development. It provides a set of tools and practical advice on how the rights of the child and initiatives aimed at promote the well-being of all children can be effectively integrated and implemented in all assistance programs for the bilateral and multilateral development. Document holistic, the manual includes 8 modules (over 500 pages in total) on key areas such as children's rights in development cooperation, the rights of the child in the planning and sectoral policies, participation of the child, the child rights in governance, the impact assessment on the child, taking into account of the rights of the child in the budget process, the rights of children in situations of crisis and risk situations or even the collaboration with civil society on the rights of the child. Edouard Beigbeder, the UNICEF Representative in Haiti, welcomed the launch of the manual, saying it contribute to strengthening the cooperation on child protection "The time has come to turn the page of emergency actions to advance further in the institutional strengthening. Today, at the dawn of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Haiti has all the attributes to make children's rights a reality." For his part Javier Nino Pérez, the EU Ambassador in Haiti, declared : "The adoption of this manual will initially be very useful for the implementation of our own programs for children. Today, I ahev also the pleasure to nnounce that we will soon launch a new call for proposals to support projects of civil society especially in this area."
