Haiti - Politic : 3rd invitation, new failure...
While in the new invitation of the President of the opposition parties, the President clearly stated his refusal to involve a mediator "In order to save time justly, the head of state believes in the need for such a conversation that could pave the way for the preparation of new meetings and especially not considering that an intermediary rolemay validly be played by person or group of persons interposed, the 5 opposition parties (without Famni Lavals) in a response letter to President Martelly, now demanding beforehand a mediator "it seems us highly desirable to require the presence of a Haitian facilitator accepted by both parties," concluding "finally, we say that the executive should send a clear social and political appeasement signals to create a climate of trust prior to the holding of peaceful negotiations, as soon as possible" a response that postpones of fact "sine die" the meeting scheduled Wednesday, November 19...

Response letter of 5 opposition parties :
"Port-au-Prince, November 15, 2014
His Excellency Joseph Michel Martelly
President of the Republic
In its offices.

Mr. President,

The letter from the General Secretariat of the Presidency addressed to parties and groupings of political parties of the democratic opposition and of the Patriotic Resistance dated November 11, 2014 received from us the greatest attention.

Time passes and the crisis that experiencing the country risks, in the future, take incalculable proportions. Conscious of this serious threat, we are already prepared to engage in serious negotiations to reach a comprehensive political agreement that guarantees the democratic future of the country.

To our understanding, the discussion should focus on the different aspects of the crisis in Haiti including the electoral issue, the independent and regular functioning of State institutions, the process of recovery of our sovereignty.

In addition, to help keep a calm atmosphere during the discussions, it seems highly desirable to require the presence of a facilitator Haitian accepted by both parties

We could not let this opportunity pass without drawing your attention to the irritating nature of illegal arrests, of political persecution systematically practiced against opponents of the government. It is not possible for us either, not to mention the harmful effects of unwanted positions, if not genocidal, such as those held recently by your Minister of Communication, positions that can only pollute more than enough an already toxic political atmosphere. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12527-haiti-politic-the-syndrome-of-cockroach-editorial.html

Finally, we say that the executive should send a clear social and political appeasement signals to create a climate of trust prior to the holding of peaceful negotiations, as soon as possible.

Please accept, Mr. President, the assurances of our patriotic greetings."

Fednel Monchéry, the National Coordinator of "Repon payizan" (pro-government), recalls that the invitations will not be repeated indefinitely and calls the opposition parties to respond positively to the invitation of the Head of State and urges the opposition senators, member of G6 [Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé (Northeast), John Joël Joseph (West), Jean William Jeanty (Nippes) et Francky Exius (South), Jean-Charles Moïse (North) et Westner Polycarpe (North)] to vote on amendments to the electoral law in order to make possible the organization of the upcoming elections.
