Haiti - Security : 34 bags of coffee seized and 24 Haitians arrested
Monday, the soldiers of the "Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Fronteriza Terrestre" (CESFRONT) intercepted at a checkpoint in Paso Sena (Pedernales) 2 Daihatsu trucks from Haiti who carried 34 smuggled bags of coffee, and 24 undocumented Haitians.

Bags containing coffee who came the Haitian communities of Banano, Cabo Duarte, Maus, Bwadon and other areas of coffee production in Haiti were handed to the quarantine department of the Ministry of Agriculture for inspection and analysis. 24 Haitians have been conducted on the premises of CESFRONT, while waiting to be delivered to the Migration Service, responsible for their repatriation to Haiti.

The two truck drivers Wilkyn Cuevas (Daihatsu blue plate L018867) and Eugenio Molina (Daihatsu white plate L130191) were questioned before being released and put made available to the justice.

Note that these days, the CESFRONT maintains a strict vigilance, mainly the days of binational market, Monday and Friday of each week, to fight against smuggling and prevent products enter illegally in Dominican territory.
