Haiti - Politic : The opposition determined to overthrow the government 20/11/2014 14:18:05
Dozens of militants close to the Opposition who were given appointments to the street Assad renewed their determination to chase the team in place of power. The Opposition announced the organization of a demonstration on 25 November in the streets of Port-au-Prince to demand the resignation of President Michel Martelly, the release of political prisoners and an end to political persecution. Assad Volcy, coordinator of the "Organisation Tèt Ansanm" (OTAN) declared "Rather than be intimidated, activists are now more motivated to overthrow the Martelly administration," and confirmed the demonstrations of 25, 28 and 29 November. Wednesday, Senator Moïse Jean-Charles, said that the shooting of protesters, sought to eliminate him announcing its intention to file a complaint Thursday against President Martelly, Prime Minister Lamothe as well as Minister of Justice Jean-Renel Sanon for their involvement in the shooting... We have seen that many people took to the streets with weapons in hand, of parliamentarians [inclkuding the Deputy Arnel Bélizaire], which appeared with guns (assault rifle) in hand [...] We want to respect democracy, we respect the right of people to protest, we are trying to do what we can to create a rule of law [...] we reiterated our commitment to defend the right of every person to peaceful protest in peace, so that violence is not done on the population, in order, in the discipline. It is your right to protest but it should be done without gun, without violence..."
