Haiti - Economy : Towards the implementation of the Haitian Institute of Entrepreneurship 21/11/2014 09:26:16 Haitian Institute of Entrepreneurship : The Ministry of Trade and Industry has implemented since 2 years a support program for the enterprise development,it lacked in this program, a structure specifically dedicated to the training of entrepreneurs and businesses. The Haitian Institute for Entrepreneurship is expected to fill this gap. In partnership with campus of Limonade of the State University of Haiti where it will be located, the Institute will support the definition and implementation of training programs for entrepreneurs. This training will be provided in face-to on the site campus of Limondade or by video conference. Appropriate technological facilities will be located in the country's departments to provide access. Depending on the level and types of training, IHE will issue certificates of attendance or graduation. The Chambers of Commerce and regional industries will be closely associated with the development of the Institute. The implementation of this agreement will be done by the University Campus Roi Henri Christophe of Limonade and the funding will come from contributions of MCI and various grants or donations that can be collected. Development and Improvement of Food Production : Since 3 years the MCI has made of development of value chains one of its priority areas for action. Nearly 50% of our production of fruits, vegetables and grains are lost for various reasons : poor harvesting practices, improper storage and transport, very limited capacity or inefficient processing. The result is that our farmers are poor because they lose what they produce and consequences, consumers face higher prices in the market. As a final result, no value added, so no wealth created, no jobs, no links with major public markets and the invasion of often poor quality imported products. Another finding in the food and nutrition field, low consumption of local products yet with high nutritive value due to changes in our eating habits. Even school canteens are still predominantly supplied by imported products. This agreement and this partnership initiated by the MCI will enable the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV) of :
It is expected to channel some of these new products towards the school canteen program. Discussions have been initiated for this purpose. The implementation of this agreement will be made by the Department of Food Science and Technology of the FAMV the funding will come from contributions of MCI and other grants and donations that can be collected.
