Haiti - Diplomacy : Chancellor Brutus receives the Ambassador of Cuba 24/11/2014 10:38:25
At this meeting, the Chacelier Brutus thanked for the cooperation provided by Cuba since 1998 in Haiti in various fields, stressing the collaboration in health, literacy and agriculture and specifically in veterinary care and the fishing sector, that contribute to animal health and food program. The two men discussed aspects of the current international situation in general and specifically in the region. They are also interested in the details of the Summit of the Economic Community Cuba-Caribbean (CARICOM) to be held on December 8th (42th anniversary of the restoration of relations between Cuba and four members of the regional mechanism: Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica Trinidad and Tobago). The two diplomats also discussed the implementation of the Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA - TCP), which includes the Alliance member countries : Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia , Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela. Note that Haiti has observer status within the ALBA-TCP, whose the next summit will be held on December 14, the 10th anniversary of this integration group, founded by Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
