Haiti - Education : Mid-term review of the training of high school principals
Friday, more than four weeks after the launch of the training in Jacmel for 63 high school principals, 41 came from the West department and 22 of Southeast, a mid-term review has been presented by Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of Education.

Taking place on 9 weeks, the training that is part of the educational reform underway to enable, among others, the upgrading of public schools, enters its fifth week on positive note with a craze among all participants whoinvest fully in a rhythm of work from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm.

"The training is going well, according to the projections," rejoiced the Minister Manigat, who said to appreciates the reception and understanding of all high schools principals having understood the relevance of such an initiative.

Many school officials who spoke on the occasion did not fail to welcome the "excellent initiative" of the Minister with the support of the government. They stressed that this training binding both education and technology, will help enrich their knowledge. The directors are unanimous in recognizing that the various training modules will enable a more effective and efficient educational and administrative management of high schools.

Four high schools directors with the highest ranking, following the initial assessments, Wilner Rivard, of the National High School of Cornillon Grand-Bois, Geffrard Pierre Franck, of the High School Charles Bel-Air of Archaie, Nicolas Mathurin, of the High school Alexandre Pétion and Roosevelt Gilles, of the High school Benoit Batravill, will participate in training that takes place in Martinique at the end of November, announced the Minister Manigat. "It's a way to reward the performance of these heads of public schools to these first training sessions."

Recall that this training, which aims at total 203 Directors of high schools of the Republic, following a circular from the Ministry published on 22 October https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12341-haiti-education-management-of-high-schools-the-ministry-decreed-the-state-of-emergency.html reminding high schools directors of the country, their responsibility to ensure effective control of their educational institution and maintain a working environment promoting the teaching-learning process.

North and Artibonite departments are the next target, said the Minister Manigat, who estimated at about 20 million gourdes the overall cost that will have to assume the Treasury for such training.
