Police had to intervene to disperse violent demonstrators and avoid the worst. Protesters increasingly angry and hostile to the Deputy Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon, President of the Lower House, toured the city, demanding the installation of a new municipal cartel, the departure of President Martelly and the holding of good elections.
