Haiti - Politic : Demonstrations in Petit-Goâve and Port-au-Prince
Tuesday, December 16 that recalls the 24th anniversary of the coming to power in 1990 of Jean Bertrand Aristide, hundreds of Fanmi Lavalas supporters traveled the downtown of Petit Goâve, to denounce the excesses of the team "Tèt kale" and demand the departure of President Martelly, of the Government Commissioner Me Jean Alix or the arrest of Prime Minister resigned, Laurent Lamothe for corruption.

In the capital the same day, to the call of the consultation table of the opposition parties, Fanmi Lavalas and its allies, several thousand people took the streets under heavy police surveillance. Chanting the usual slogans against the Head of State, denouncing the mismanagement of the team in power to whom they accused of having done nothing to improve the living conditions of the population, calling for the resignation of President Martelly and the unconditional release of all political prisoners.

The security forces used tear gas to disperse protesters who did not respect the route filed with the police. At the end of their walk, a determined crowd, has faced in the March Champs, the roadblocks set up by police to prevent demonstrators from reaching the National Palace. In response to tear gas, demonstrators responded by throwing stones and bottles at police who fired into the air to disperse the angry crowd... Several wounded are reported during the confrontation, which were taken to hospital.
