Haiti - Politic : Mirlande Manigat broke her silence and shouts her anger !
Address to the Nation of Mirlande Mangat :
"Brothers and Sisters in the Commune Fatherland,

I voluntarily observed a strategic silence during recent weeks. I preferred to leave to one side an opportunity to those who sincerely fight with me for the establishment of the rule of law in the country, on the other allow the spreading of delaying games and murderers, while the fate of the country was left aside.

Today, faced with the imminent catastrophe that precise, I decided to break the silence to shout loudly my anger, my worries and my indignation at this programmed assassination and announced of essential foundation of our dignity and of our sovereignty .

It goes without saying that Haitian problems must be solved by Haitians. But internationalist by training, by conviction and realism, I believe in the fertility of interstate relations. The dialogue between peoples, stripped of the aftermath of a desire to dominate, will feed and channel a public diplomacy, serious, professional.

So, on behalf of the Haitian people, I call of our nearest neighbors or our distant partners, respect and understanding! I ask the international community in general and the US Embassy in particular not to impose solutions or initiatives that they would not accept in their country

I raise my voice in protest against this suggestion thinly veiled, to violate our basic charter.

It is eleven fifty-five at the the clock of the country, because from January 12, no decision can be taken by the Executive or by Parliament that is consistent with the Constitution (as amended or not). How in the space-time remaining, a parliament will be able, after recovering in the National Assembly, allow the chamber of deputies to meet to ratify the selection of a Prime Minister and a government says of consensus, vote on the amendments to the Electoral Law even before the formation of a new CEP ? Herculean program if not impossible to achieve in a wide botched operation that does not take into account the dignity of parliament and whose obvious purpose is to deceive the citizens. You can not do in 24 hours what should have been done in 3 years and a half.

No twist can fill that gaping hole skillfully dug.

Now that it imposes, there is no alternative to a courageous decision : note the failure of a policy, the lapse of all executive and legislative institutions, accordingly prepare a serious alternative, responsible for setting the record straight, organize inclusive and uncontested elections, prepare a constitution that combines the functional realism and the need for effective legal guidelines to prevent abuses.

Women of Haiti, commit yourself by yourselves in political action whose image and setbacks discourage you again.

You, businessprivate sector representatives, great entrepreneurs or managers of small and medium enterprises; You, religious of different faiths, you, youth of the country who represent over 40% of the population, impatient and demanding Youth rightly;

I address a sincere patriotic call to all these living forces of the country and invite them to come out of the lethargy that paralyzes them; to combat any acrobatics designed to fill gaps in our fundamental law. It is necessary that finally triumph the rule of law that involves the submission to the law of rulers and ruled. There is another way of doing politics.

The team that directs us must note its failure, and withdraw, then united in one body we all will begin the reconstruction of our country."
