"
Dear Minister Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin,

Distinguished members of the staff of the Ministry of Communication,
My dear colleague Journalists

It is with humility that I officially assume at this moment the post of Minister of Communication of government Martelly-Paul, whose the major mission is to lead the country towards the organization of democratic and inclusive elections this year.

I sincerely want to thank the Head of State, HE Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly and Prime Minister Evans Paul for the trust placed in me. I also salute my predecessor, the outgoing Minister Mr. Rudy Hériveaux.

I arrive at the head of this ministry at a very important moment of national life when the country needs as clearly underlined the head of state of the involvement of all his daughters and all his son to overcome current challenges and advance on the path of democracy and economic progress.

At the Ministry of Communication, my team and I, will make every effort to ensure that journalists have access to information. Mechanisms will also be developed as desired by Prime Minister Evans Paul, o promote the practice of investigative journalism in the country.

We will try to develop a legible communication policy, audible and consistent, based on traditional and social media to inform the public of the achievements of the administration Martelly / Paul, taking into account of course, of the new environment in which the current Government will have to evolve.

In this election year, the Minister of Communications intends to partner with instances of the Electoral Council, of civil society organizations to enable the participation of a larger number of voters in the upcoming elections through a major national awareness major, as requested by the President of the Republic, HE Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly.

At the state media, arrangements will be made in consultation with the President and the Prime Minister to ensure that these bodies are accessible to representatives of all political tendencies that follow the rules of the democratic game, especially at the next election .

As for the media, I know the challenges that are facing the sector. Thus, the Ministry of Communication proposes to engage in an ongoing dialogue with the Media Owners associations and of journalists on this important issue together to define a strategy to achieve the improvement of the framework within which work press workers.

The training of journalists as one of the Government Martelly-Paul priorities. We work closely with media organizations and intend to appeal to local and foreign skills so that journalists are better trained and also so that they can fully play their role in view of the strengthening of democracy and economic well-being of the population.

The government Martelly-Paul also proposes to work with the Haitian diaspora media that allow our compatriots living abroad to stay in contact with the homeland. We also rely on the media to project a better image of Haiti abroad.

Prime Minister Evans Paul during the installation of the cabinet, pledged to respect individual freedoms. Consequently, the doors of ministry, I direct, will remain open to members of the press and the public. We will work with mutual respect for the press can play its full role in the process of consolidation of democracy and economic progress.
