Swearing in of the CEP
The Ministry of Justice and Public Security informs that the swearing-in ceremony of the new members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13001-haiti-elections-the-9-members-of-the-provisional-electoral-council-cep.html will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 3 p.m., at the Court of Cassation, in Frères. The new electoral advisers will then be installed at 4:00 pm in their functions by Me. Pierre Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice, at a ceremony to be held in the premises of the CEP, in Petion-Ville.

UPDATE : at 16:00 a press release announced that the swearing-in ceremonies and installation of members of the Provisional Electoral Council planned for this Thursday, January 22, 2015 have been postponed to a later date. Of technical issues beyond the control of the Government and the CEP are the basis of this postponement.

Secretary of State for Public Security, withdrew ?
The former Chief of Security National Palace, Carel Alexandre appointed Secretary of State for Public Security, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12975-haiti-flash-composition-of-the-new-ministerial-cabinet-update-5-53-pm.html did not participate in the government's inauguration, his name was not called. According to Pierre Espérance, Executive Director of RNDDH, the US government would have forced the Executive to remove from the list, the name of Carel Alexandre which would have trouble with the US authorities. The Presidency did not comment on this.

Committee to monitor government action
Tuesday, the 10 remaining senators, held a working meeting to analyze the taking of office of Government and the formation of the Provisional Electoral Council. Parliamentarians plan to establish a commission to monitor government action.

Evans Paul celebrates Our Lady of Altagrâce

Construction at the Olympic Village
The Quality Control and Monitoring Unit (FAES), of infrastructure works financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has given the firm IBT, teh order to start the construction of housing for athletes in the Olympic Village "Sport for Hope". This building will house 188 athletes and will be completed in late September 2015. The CSA firm will supervise the work.

Training of taxi drivers
Northern Regional Office of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), is organizing a series of training courses for the taxi drivers from the airport of Cap-Haitien. These sessions are held from 20 to Tuesday 27 January 2015. Strengthening the capacity and the quality of tourist reception of drivers at the international airport is the main objective of this training. All Associations drivers from the international airport of Cap-Haitien, will benefit from this training on themes relating to the development of the North destination.
