Haiti - Education : Lifting of the warning strike to UEH
Friday, the Think team for the new UEH (CRNU), the Union of the administrative staff of UEH (SPA/UEH) and the Union of the teaching staff of UEH (SCE/UEH) announced the lifting of the warning strike, which was effective from 19 to Friday, January 23, 2015, to force the university authorities to implement the salary scale of teachers and of administrative staff, adopted in December 2013, which is applied only to the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Science.

"[...] The three signatory entities decide, as expected, to lift the strike this Friday, January 23, 2015 at midnight. We would, by this act, leave some time for members of the Executive Board so that it can not only recover, but especially come in consultation with the teachers and administrative staff in order to find a successful outcome in the crisis that remains unresolved.

However, [...] we ask all members of the teaching staff and administrative staff to stay mobilized pending our next instructions. Indeed, we are more determined than ever to find the necessary answers to all of our claims. So are we going to put in place a program to establish stronger links within the UEH community in general and between the various entities of faculties in particular.

Baptized - Caravan of the new UEH - this program will aim to better channel all claims of professors, lecturers, instructors, etc... and those of the administrative staff, by meeting them in their respective space. It is for us to create between the rectorate and and the latter, not only bridges, but especially of spaces for dialogue and discussion, in the perspective of the new UEH, that is to say a UEH that is more inclusive, more humanistic, stronger, more caring, more understanding and closer to the general population, of the economic sector and the social and political actors in particular.
