Haiti - Culture : Ludovic Booz, a big name of sculpture, passed away

In a note of sympathy "the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) mourns the departure for the beyond, of the Master founder, sculptor and painter, Ludovic Booz (born June 16, 1940 to Aquin in the South Department) occurred on the night of February 2 2015, Miami"

Michèle G. Frisch, Director General of the Pantheon Museum recalls that "this Grand renowned Haitian artist is the author of 'Arms' placed above the sarcophagusto the Fathers of the Haitian homeland and of Henry Christophe bust, conserved to the Haitian National Pantheon Museum.

In his career, Mr. Booz has made remarkable sculptures including the statue of the 'Indien Inconnu', the busts of Dumarsais Estimé at Port-au-Prince, Magloire Ambroise on the place of Jacmel and Hector Hyppolite to Pont Morin.

In these painful circumstances, the Haitian National Pantheon Museum asks his family, his friends and allies as well as the Haitian cultural world afflicted by this loss, to believe in the expression of his deep heartfelt sympathies."
