Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere !
Presentation of adwards discover Haiti 2014

Those responsible of the tourism promotion agency "Discover Haiti" initiators of the adward of the same name, in the presence of Maryse Noel Director General Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), executives of the ministry and personalities of tourism private sector have recently proceeded to the presentation of Adwards 2014 to 6 laureates.

List of laureates :
- Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 :
Richard Buteau current President of the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH), for his commitment to the development of tourism in Haiti through the hotel ;

- Revelation of the Year :
Alexandre Fritz Arios, graphic designer for his graphic work, especially those made in the context of 'Artisanat en fête' 2014 ;

- Initiative of the Year :
The newspaper "Le Nouvelliste" for teh valuation of cultural riches of Haiti, its sights, its men and women who are shaping the future through its magazine "Magic Haiti" ;

- Young of the year :
Marc Alain Boucicaut, economist and promoter of "Élan Haiti" for his dynamism and his exemplary contribution in promoting the positive image of young Haitians to the world's eyes ;

- Video of the Year :
The Clip « Jou A La » by Hervé Anthénor aka Shabba for the positive image of Haiti conveyed



- Personality of the Year :
Karine Condé Emeran, South Departmental Director of MTIC for her involvement of a positive image of Haiti and its efforts to the professionalization of the tourism and hotel industry through the Hotel and Tourist Training Institute (IFORHT) of Les Cayes.

Towards a rapprochement between EDH and hotels owners
Thursday, Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), in the presence of Nonce Zéphyr, President of the Chamber of Commerce also Executive President of the North Destination Management Organization, met Jackson Coicou, the Director of Electricity of Haiti North Branch (EDH North), to decide on "the quality of the existing commercial relations between EDH and some hotels owners of North". This meeting allowed Ms. Luma to create a better relational rapprochement or commercial between the head of EDH and hotels owners of the Destination.

Tourism and the disabled
At the Hotel Oasis, recently held a 2-day training seminar, organized at the initiative of the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH) and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), with the support of the Organization of American States (OAS) and "Christian Blind Mission" (CBM) to the attention of some forty participants from the Ministry of Tourism, of Quisqueya University, from the Hotel School of Haiti and the Tourist Police. "Considering the importance of tourism in the development of a country as well as its potential contribution to the welfare of the population, it seems essential that the various players in the sector are well imbued with the nuances of the problematic of social inclusion and its multi-dimensionality," declared the Secretary of State, Gérald Oriol Jr.

Participants followed with interest the training dedicated to the tourism sector, which has treated include: the issue of social inclusion for people with special needs, the rehabilitation and the techniques for escorting persons with disabilities, introduction to the braille reading and sign language, the Haitian legal framework on disability and general principles of universal accessibility.

Haitian Rum and Coffee featured at FITUR
The Ministry of Tourism would like to thank Rhum Barbancourt and Café Rebo for having, through their donations in kind to the Haitian delegation at FITUR held recently in Spain, allowed many visitors to taste and enjoy the Rum and the Coffee of Haiti on the Stand of Haiti. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13098-haiti-tourism-haiti-signs-two-agreements-at-fitur-2015.html
