Haiti - Culture : 4th Quebec Film Festival in Haiti
As part of the activities of the International Day of the Francophonie, the Fabienne Colas Foundation announces the 4th edition of the Quebec Film Festival in Haiti (FFQH) from March 17 to 24, 2015 in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel, which will highlight 12 films made by Quebec filmmakers.

"It's a real pleasure to present, once again, a selection of the best Quebec films of the moment, free of charge to the Haitians! We hold annually the Festival Haiti en Folie in Quebec that brings closer the Quebecers to the the vibrant Haitian culture. The film "Exile" by Charles-Olivier Michaud, who tells the story of Samuel, a young Haitian who goes to America in search of his mother who fled to the United States by boat while he was still a baby will open the Festival on Tuesday, March 17 at the French Institute of Haiti. The shocking documentary "Citizens of Nowhere" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13241-haiti-diaspora-world-premiere-of-the-shock-documentary-citizens-of-nowhere.html of Nicolas Alexandre Tremblay and Regis Coussot, dealing with the fate of stateless persons of Haitian descent in the Dominican Republic, will close the festival on March 24 at 7:00 pm, again at the French Institute of Haiti with the two filmmakers.

During the 4th Festival the Fabienne Colas Foundation will present the original program "Succession and Diversity", a compilation of five short films on the theme "Being Black in Montreal," made by young aspiring directors from Montreal diversity. This compilation, which has enjoyed great success at the 10th International Black Film Festival of Montreal, will be screened for the first time outside of Quebec.

The Quebec Film Festival in Haiti (FFQH), was created in 2009 by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, dedicated to education in the arts and promoting Cinema, Art and Culture, in collaboration with the Government of Quebec and the Canadian Embassy in Haiti. The aim of the Festival is to promote the cultural rapprochement between Quebec and Haiti, by presenting to Haitians the wealth of Quebec cinema at free screenings and open to all. This festival is part of a joint declaration on cultural cooperation between the governments of Quebec and Haiti.
