Haiti - Reconstruction : Tour of  President Martelly on Île-à-Vache
Thursday, President Michel Martelly, accompanied among others by Stéphanie Blamir Villedrouin, the Ministers of Tourism and Creative Industries, Fresner Dorcin, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, Philippe Cinéas, Secretary of State for Public Works, the Departmental Delegate of the South, Fritz Chéry and the Mayor of the island, Fritz César, toured the Île-à-Vache, to inquire about the already completed development projects and those ongoing.

The Head of State first visited the construction sites of the Quai and the Court of Peace in the community of Terre-Plein where he then addressed the people of the island prior to proceed with the distribution of sails, engines and stoves kits and of nursery to the fishermen Federations of the locality of Madame Bernard and to the planters of the Spring Agricultural Campaign on the island.

President Martelly, took this opportunity to remind the inhabitants that "the development of the Île-à-Vache necessarily implies that of all its inhabitants," before visiting the construction of the new airport of the Île-à-Vache near the town of Balérase.



In addition, the Head of State invited the inhabitants of the Île-à-Vache not to submit to anti-democratic game initiated by certain sectors of society at the expense of change. He invites them to remain calm and to go to vote in order to choose "their worthy representatives in the public service."

In the evening, accompanied by the inhabitants of the island, he walked toward Kay Kòk supervise other agricultural projects and a training workshop initiated by the National Institute for Professional Training (INFP) and also inaugurated a public square for child in Kay Kòk.
