Haiti - Reconstruction : The terminal Guy Malary, almost ready

Wednesday, Rothchild François Junior, the Minister of Communication, accompanied by including Pierre André Laguerre, Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), paid a visit to the Terminal Guy Malary, to inquire about the progress of the modernization works of this infrastructure.

The Minister recalled that the modernization of air transport has been a priority for the President Martelly upon accession to power. "Today it is obvious that the airline industry has experienced a boom with in particular the airport of Cap-Haitien, which can accommodate large carriers today, not to mention the construction of the airport in Les Cayes and Ile-à-Vache," stressing that the construction of the new premises of Terminal Guy Malary, reflects the vision of the Head of State to modernize the airport sector in Haiti.

Pierre André Laguerre, provided an update on the progress of work entrusted to the Haitian firm CODEPLA, adding that this work, which was to last 18 months, will be completed before the end of April 2015, stressing that the new infrastructure of the Terminal Guy Malary, will allow general aviation to receive domestic flights, domestic and private.

Built on 1,700 m2, $6 million was disbursed by the Haitian State for the construction and modernization of new infrastructure of the terminal Guy Malary, which will have a capacity of 100 passengers at peak hours, for a flow of up to 1,200 passengers per day.

This terminal will also be equipped with hangars, which can be operated under concession by the AAN specified to the press the Director General of the AAN.
